Fruits of Mukteshwar

Popularly known as the fruit basket of Kumaon, Mukteshwar is a pristine hill station near Nainital. It is covered with lush green fruit orchards on its terraces both sides of a five-kilometer long ridge ranging from a height of  7000 to 8000 Ft. Because of its scenic beauty, several hotels and resorts have come up at Mukteshwar. During its fruiting season, the eco-friendly resorts at Mukteshwar encourage guests to enjoy fresh fruits from the orchards. Some of these hotels in Mukteshwar are made within fruit orchards itself which give guests a pleasurable experience.  The fruiting season is mainly June when visitors can enjoy different species of Apples, Plums, Apricots, Peaches, Pear and more. Mid June onwards would be the best time to enjoy fresh fruits, straight off the trees.

Apart from this Mukteshwar forests have a variety of delicious wild berries growing all over. Resorts at Mukteshwar are happy to organize guided forest walks where you can pick some of the these red, orange and purple berries named Kaafal, His all and Kilmore and enjoy their tangy flavors. It is a delightful experience. Mukteshwar is extremely well located and guests can comfortably travel to Nainital, Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal, Almora, Ranikhet for day sightseeing tours

Some hotels also organize orchard picnics with packed lunch and you are made to taste the several varieties and enjoy the pollution free and green outdoors. You also get to interact with local farmers/orchard owners and learn about their lives in the hills. You cannot have fruits as fresh and healthy as this. You should get your stay booked much in advance as June is a heavy tourist season as well. Hotels and resorts at Mukteshwar are specialized for those travelers who like to relax with nature, go for nature walks, enjoy bon-fire evenings and such off-beat, rejuvenating activities.

Himalayan Resort in Mukteshwar

I have always been in love with the Himalayas and have traveled extensively in the Himalayan Region. If you like to experience true flavors of being in the Himalayas, always prefer staying above a height of 6000 ft. as that is when you get places which provide you the panoramic views that one dreams of while booking a hill resort. I try and identify less crowded places, which have comfortable accommodation and good home cooked meals but great locations. Vantage Points always add the extra charm to any holiday. One such place is a Himalayan resort in Mukteshwar called Mountain Trail. Mukteshwar is 45 km East of Nainital and is a serene, peaceful hill station at a great height of 8000 Ft. Amazing for scenic vistas and if you’re lucky, on a clear day, you get to view the white snow-capped Himalayan Range which is awe-inspiring. This eco-friendly green resort has been spread out in acres of a fruit orchard and faces the Himalayas, the glorious sunrise, and deep forested valleys. On

Mukteshwar

A Serene and Sleepy little Hill Town near Nainital, lesser known by regular travelers but extremely popular amongst nature loving, peace-seeking population. Perched atop a wonderful height of 8000 Ft above sea level, atop a 5 km. long ridge, Mukteshwar is famous for panoramic vistas of the sunrise and sunset, the deeply wooded valley views and the majestic Himalayan Range which is a 180-degree panorama from the Jim Corbett’s bungalow at Mukteshwar. Sir Jim Corbett himself called Mukteshwar as the “Most Beautiful spot in Kumaon”. Jim Corbett has shot many tigers and leopards around Mukteshwar forests and has written about them in his several books.   The British set their veterinary research base at Mukteshwar because they found Mukteshwar to be having the best climatic conditions in the regions and the pure air in the dense forests also supported the cause. The scenic splendor came as a bonus. They established the Indian Veterinary Research Institute about 140 years ago and th
